In the recent announcement made by Western Australia government for 2022-2023 stated that they are opening up new opportunities for international immigrants, permanent residents and citizens of Australia. State government said in its recent official release "As a part of WA state government $195 million statement to reconnect with the new WA strategy, an additional 195 occupations have been added to graduate occupation list taking total number of listed occupations to 331, to attract more international students to study in the state". This would happen on the basis of the ranking system and the work experience giving preference first to Australian citizens, then to permanent residents of Australia and finally to those residing overseas. Australia opens permanent residency doors for skilled workers in over 330 occupations.
The candidates are nominated by NSW through “Skilled nominated Visa (subclass 190)” and “Skilled work regional (provisional) visa (subclass 491)” for skilled migration to Australia.

An Australian politician and state education & training minister Sue Ellery said "Meeting Western Australia’s skilled workforce needs, to support the state’s strong economic growth and pipeline of works." She also said "There are several new occupations to choose from like cook, caravan park manager, data entry operator, ambulance officer or youth worker, international students are an important part of WA community, the make positive contribution to state’s diversity and vibrancy and support jobs in variety of industries". This skilled worker pathway will also provide a chance to students to apply for permanent residence.
