Students need to graduate from a regional institution In order to be eligible for this visa extension and then spend at least two years in a regional area residing. The additional Temporary Graduate visa in November 2019 will be officially implemented and be available from 2021 to the first eligible graduates.
The second Temporary Graduate visa is available who will have resided for at least two years in a regional area (including all work and study) immediately before applying for their second 485 visa and also to current post-study 485 visa holders who graduated from a regional institution.
$650 for main applicant, $165 for children under 18 and$325 for spouse or partner is visa application fees. Provided they can meet these requirements, Existing Temporary Graduate visa holders may be eligible. Talk with Immigration Agent in Sydney for detail information.
Ongoing residence will require the second Temporary Graduate in a regional area. As the definition for skilled migration the definition of regional Australia for this purpose will be the same – all of Australia except Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
For an additional Temporary Graduate visa The Department of Home Affairs has announced a new initiative with an extra year of post-study work rights for international students who:
• With a higher education or postgraduate qualification Graduate from the regional campus of a registered institution or university.
• While holding their first Temporary Graduate Maintain ongoing residence in a regional area (subclass 485) visa.
You may apply for a further 1 or 2 year 485 Temporary Graduate Visa from January 21st, 2021 if you have graduated from an educational institution in that area and have been living in a regional area.
Those eligible for a second TGV for the duration of their new visa will be required to remain in a regional area.
At a regional campus of a metropolitan university international students who studied will be eligible.
- International graduates on a second Temporary Graduate visa will be eligible for an additional 1 year who have studied and lived in Category 2.
- International graduates on a second Temporary Graduate visa will be eligible for an additional 2 years who have studied and lived in Category 3.
