Budget Announcement and Partner visas:

The government announced the new changes in the budget for partner visas:

•    For the visa applicants and sponsors English language requirement will be put in place
•    Mandatory character checks on sponsor

It is expected that the government are putting the additional requirements for the visa applicants in place would contribute to further delay and costs. This is because before the visa is granted the applicant and sponsor will have to complete additional requirements. For example: Take the mandatory character checks.

It will take extra time for the Department to approve the sponsor and vet the sponsor before the applicant can proceed with the visa application.
